Dr. Mater

Simone Mater, M.D. is a board-certified family physician with over 23 years of experience. She has practiced all aspects of Family Medicine and cared for patients of all ages. Dr. Mater graduated from Bahia Medical & Public Health School in Salvador, Brazil in 1999 at a young age of 24. Soon after graduation, she started practicing full scope Family Medicine in an underserved rural area in Brazil. For four years, Dr. Mater really enjoyed caring for the medically underserved in rural Brazil. She was able to acquire a vast experience due to the broad spectrum of practice that the rural physicians are able to do with very little to no resources. From home visits to OB, from clinic to the hospital visits, she was able to handle every patient that came through the door. She also appreciated the depth of the relationships she was able to cultivate with her patients.

In 2004 she decided to pursue medical residency in the United States. In 2007, after taking multiples tests in order to be eligible for residency in the US, Dr. Mater attended first year of OB/GYN residency at Aurora Sinai Medical Center downtown Milwaukee, WI. She quickly realized her passion was to practice full scope of Family Medicine instead of specializing. Through the same residency program, Dr. Mater was able to switch and complete her Family Medicine residency in 2011 at Aurora St. Luke’s Medical Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Since residency, Dr. Mater has provided Urgent Care services for thousands of patients in Venice, Florida and surrounding areas, where she moved with her family. She has extensive experience with treating patients with Covid-19 infection and has had great success with the use of safe off-label medications.
